All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as "MAJOR" pose an immediate threat to public health <br />and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations (Title 22) section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br />OBSERVATIONS: The life rings are missing a rope, add rope that is the width of the pool by today. <br />There is only one life hook, I recommend there should be two, located on each side of the pool since it is a large pool. <br />Operator said he will get another life hook. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use. Pools shall have at <br />minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br />rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br />(CCR 65540) <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br />OBSERVATIONS: There is one hand rail that is loose. Hand rails should be secured tightly. Fix today. <br />CALCODE DESCRIPTION: A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br />handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed. At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br />above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 3111B) Pool <br />operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained.
