A summary of historical groundwater data as well as groundwater data obtained during this phase of
assessment is provided in Table 3 and Table 4 Figure 3 illustrates select groundwater analytical results and
isoconcentration contours
5.8 Sensitive Receptor Survey
ATC conducted a Sensitive Receptor Survey to identify any wells within the vicinity of the subject site, as
requested in the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, work plan approval letter received by ATC
on May 22, 2002 A well log search of the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) well
database was conducted on January 8, 2003 According to the DWR, nine documented wells are within a
2,000 -foot radius of the site Three wells appear to be groundwater production wells screened at depths
ranging from approximately 144 feet to 5 60 feet bgs The other six wells documented within a 2,000 foot
radius of the site are the assessment wells associated with 2537 Waterloo Road, CRWQCB site code
1757 In accordance with California Water Code Section 13751 and section 13752, well completion
reports can be reviewed at the request of the DWR, however these reports shall be kept confidential and
shall not be disseminated, published, or made available for inspection to the public without written
utborization from the owner(s) of the well(s) Therefore details related to the nine reported wells are not
ciisc, ussed in this publicly released c,-OrrectiNc action plan
On January 9, 2003, ATC personnel conducted a 500 -foot physical reconnaissance to identify any
undocumented wells and confirm that no surface water bodies are present in the immediate vicinity of the
site No undocumented surface water bodies or groundwater wells were observed during this phase of the
survey As noted above, several wells associated with the ongoing site assessment and remediation that
exists on the subject property are listed in the DWR search
6 0 VAPOR EXTRACTION PILOT TESTING
In order to assess the feasibility of implementmg vapor extraction technology as a remedial measure for
the site, field feasibility testing was necessary to evaluate the anticipated flow, radius of influence,
vacuum requirements, and mass loading to the treatment unit ATC prepared the Workplan for Additional
Assessment, Remediation Well Installation and Feasibility Studies, dated December 21, 2001 to address
the need for field feasibility testing
6 1 Vapor Extraction Pilot Testing System and Procedure
Vapor Extraction Feasibility Testing (VEFT) was conducted on December 18, 2002 The VEFT utilized a
pilot test trailer, consisting of a 250 cubic feet per minute (cfm) Solleco thermal oxidizer, positive -
displacement (PD) blower powered by a 3-phase 7 5 horsepower (hp) motor, associated interlocking
safety mechanisms, flow rate and vacuum measuring equipment, and a MmiRAE 2000TM Model PGM -
7600 portable volatile organic combustibles (VOC) monitor The VEFT was conducted in accordance
with ATC's Standard Operating Procedures included in Appendix B
It was intended that during the VEFT, applied vacuums of approximately 33%, 67%, 100% of the
EZ 100966 CAP
S 1EZ ServelEZ 1009661Reports1100966CAP
W
ATC Associates Inc
ATC Project No 43 25827 0026
