Two
conductor casings were installed at the site within the former tank basin (Figures 2 and 3) during backfill
activities associated with underground storage tank removals. hree' underground storage tanks were
removed from the site on October 14, 1994. After soil had been overexcavated to a depth of
approximately 33 feet below grade on October 18, 1994, two 24L inch diameter, solid polyvinyl chloride
(PVC) casings were suspended from an excavator and lowered until one! end of each casing was in contact
with the bottom of the excavation. Approximately 1 foot of native soil was implaced around the bottom
of each conductor casing. Backfill operations of the tank basin excavation then continued normally with
pea gravel to grade around the two conductor casings. A traffic -rated, 30 -inch diameter well box was
installed with an approximate two -foot surface seal of concrete after backfill operations were completed.
If you have any questions regarding the installation of the conductor casings, please contact either of the
undersigned at (916) 939-7550.
.r
Sincerely,
ACTON • MICKELSON • wan DAM, INC.
