However, a Quarterly
Report was not submitted.
A meeting was held June 26, 1991 between Ultramar, Applied Geosystems, PHS/EHD, and the Central Valley
Regional Water Quality Control Board. It was agreed that quarterly monitoring should commence. The
September 27, 1991 PHS/EHD letter requested that a Quarterly Report be submitted by November 14, 1991.
No Quarterly Report has been submitted to date.
Not only has groundwater been contaminated, but the extent of this contamination has not been defined.
The groundwater gradient, when last measured (1987), was to the southwest. Therefore there is not a down
gradient well which would delineate the contamination boundary. Additional soil and groundwater
investigation will be required.
Submit by January 31, 1992 a Quarterly Report and workplan to further assess the groundwater
contamination of this site. If the Quarterly Report is not submitted by January 31, 1992 formal enforcement
action may be requested.
If you have any questions or you wish to schedule a groundwater sampling inspection please contact
Mary Meays, EHS, of my staff at (209) 468-3441.
Jogi KhannaD., M.P.H.
HeallthhQfffifi';rl`
kaurie A.
