This report is in <br /> response to a verbal request from Ultramar, Inc. (Ultramar) to provide a technical evaluation <br /> regarding the subject closure documentation in reference to Appendix B of the Tri-Regional <br /> Board Staff Recommendations for Preliminary Investigation acid Evaluation of Underground Tank <br /> Sites (Appendix B). , <br /> Ultramar has provided RTD with copies of the Closure Evaluation Report dated January 24, 1995 <br /> and the regulatory response letter from San Joaquin County, Public Health Services (SJCPHS) <br /> dated February 24, 1995. RTD has examined the data provided by Ultramar, evaluated the <br /> CIosure Evaluation Report in compliance with Appendix B Wand has provided the professional <br /> opinion of our California Registered Geologist as to the merits of site closure. In addition, RTD <br /> has evaluated the SJCPHS response to the ClosureEvaluation Report and makes <br /> recommendations for possible responses and future courses of action. <br /> jk <br /> 4 <br /> The Appendix B guidelines contain a listing of the minimum information required: <br /> 1. Distance to production wells for municipal, domestic, agriculture, industry and other uses <br /> within 2000 feet of the site, <br /> 2. Site maps, to scale, of area impacted showing locations of former and existing tank <br /> systems, elevation contours, gradients, and nearby surface waters, buildings, streets, and <br /> subsurface utilities, <br /> 3. High and low ground water levels (below ground surface), <br /> 4. Tabulated abu ated results of all sampling and analyses, <br /> 5. Vertical and lateral concentration contours of contaminants found initially, and those <br /> remaining in soil and ground water, both on and off site, <br /> - 1 - <br /> Y � <br />
