All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The life ring does not have a rope attached.Attach a rope to the life ring that will reach across the entire <br /> pool. <br /> Life hook is unreachable and one is on the ground. Locate these items so they are easily accessible and clearly visible. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br /> (CCR 65540) <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br /> OBSERVATIONS:One pair of hand rails are loose, secure the handrails so they are sturdy. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool. Ladders and <br /> handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br /> above the top of the lowest step. Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 3111 B)Pool <br /> operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Free chlorine measured at 12.6 ppm. Operator must maintain free chlorine levels between 3.0 and 10.0 <br /> ppm when using cyanuric acid. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. Clean pool during next pool service. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall maintain clean pool water while the pool is in use and shall not allow debris to accumulate <br /> in the pool. Pool operator shall clean the bottom, sides,and other surfaces of the pool as often as necessary to keep pool surfaces clean <br /> and free of slime and algae.
