Dollar Tree#01240, 678 N Wilson Way, Stockton, CA 95205 Record ID PR0537497
04/08/2019
PHOTO# 10
-An Aerosols, Flammables, and Combustibles (AF) HW tote was marked as only containing "Nail polish and remover" on the label, however the following
items were found in the tote (IMG 5256-60, 5266, 5269-70):
-An empty container of Tile Plus 4 In 1 Multi-Surface Cleaner. Shelly did not know what happened to the liquid that was once contained in the container,
but indicated it may have been an item used by the store to clean the facility. When Shelly scanned the item, the hand-held scanner prompted her to "See
guide"to determine which HW tote the item should be placed in. Shelly referenced the document titled "Products To Be Treated As Hazardous Waste,"
which was hanging on the HW storage area shelves. Shelly was unable to explain how it was determined that the empty container of Tile Plus 4 In 1 Multi-
Surface Cleaner be placed in the AF HW tote. Shelly was not familiar with the StrongPak Resource Center phone number listed on the Dollar Tree
Potentially Hazardous Material Management poster, which was posted adjacent the HW storage area, in case questions came up. Shelly was also not
familiar with Dollar Tree's collection of electronic Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), available to the facility according to page 11 of Dollar Tree's
California Training Guide.
-An aerosol can of Air Wick 6 in 1 Essential Oils Air Freshener
- Six leaky/broken bottles of nail polish
According to page 14 of Dollar Tree's California Training Guide Hazardous Waste Handling and Processing Procedures, "as waste is placed in [a
hazardous waste tote], the type of waste being added must be checked off the label."
O
00
0
0
M cn
cn GA
w o 1
N 0 0 1
= awe
Elianna Florido, REHS Page 10 of 21
