SHAWN Environmental Health Department <br /> COUNTY— <br /> Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Inspection Report <br /> Facility Name: Facility Address: TAug,ate: <br /> Dollar General#13357 1201 W Main St. Ripon st 12. 2019 <br /> SUMMARY OF VIOLATIONS <br /> (CLASS I,CLASS II,or MINOR-Notice to Comply) <br /> Item# Remarks <br /> poster, air fresheners/fragrances and items containing oils are to be placed in the Flammable HW tote. <br /> -Two 2-count packs of Refresh Mini Diffusers,which the scanner stated should be placed in the Flammable HW tote. <br /> -A 2-count pack of DG Home Scented Oil Refills,which contains essential oils and fragrance. According to the DG <br /> HW guidance poster and guidance documents, air fresheners/fragrances and items containing oils are to be placed in <br /> the Flammable HW tote. <br /> -A pack of Little Tree air fresheners,which the scanner stated should be placed in a Toxic HW tote. According to the <br /> DG HW guidance poster, air fresheners/fragrances and items containing oils are to be placed in the Flammable HW <br /> tote. <br /> -A 75 oz leaking container of Arm&Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent,which the scanner stated should be placed in <br /> the Alkaline HW tote.According to the DG HW guidance poster, laundry detergents are to be placed in the Toxic HW <br /> tote. <br /> Incompatible wastes shall not be placed in the same container, or in an unwashed container that previously held an <br /> incompatible waste or material. A container holding a hazardous waste that is incompatible with any waste or other <br /> materials transferred or stored nearby in other containers, piles, open tanks, or surface impoundments shall be <br /> separated from the other materials or protected from them by means of a dike, berm,wall, or other device. <br /> Immediately separate the acid hazardous waste from the alkaline hazardous waste and the flammable hazardous <br /> waste from the oxidizer hazardous waste using separate containers. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Notes: <br /> -The inspection report was amended by adding Violation 405. <br /> -The following was observed in separate storage room located in the facility's back storage area: <br /> -A tote containing 24 bottles of DG Body Nail Polish Remover. Tony stated that the nail polish remover was on <br /> recall and that he was waiting for DG Corporate to inform him whether to continue selling the item or to dispose of <br /> it.When Tony scanned one of the nail polish removers, the hand held scanner stated"Stop Sale" and to place the <br /> nail polish remover into the appropriate environmental bin. Submit a statement to the EHD documenting how the <br /> facility will manage the bottles of nail polish remover observed. (IMG 8267-8) <br /> -Approximately ten 2-packs of Optimus Blue Ink Felt Tip Pens. Tony stated that the pens were also on recall <br /> and when the pens were scanned the hand held scanner stated"Stop Sale." Submit a statement to the EHD <br /> documenting how the facility will manage the ink pens. (IMG 8269-71) <br /> -A box marked with the word"Caulking" and contained 30 tubes of ADCO BP-300 Non-Skinning Butyl Sealant, <br /> each with a warning label indicating the sealant is flammable. Tony stated the tubes of sealant have been in the <br /> facility since the store opened several years ago. Submit a statement to the EHD documenting how the facility will <br /> manage the tubes of sealant. (IMG 8272-75) <br /> -A fan, which appeared to be an electric fan, was observed in the facility's dumpster at the time of inspection. <br /> Tony stated the fan was likely placed in the dumpster by the public, as the facility disposes of it's damaged <br /> electronics as Universal Waste. At the time of observation Tony could not remove the fan from the dumpster. <br /> While the inspector began reviewing the manifests inside the facility, Tony went back to the dumpster to attempt <br /> to remove the fan.
