This letter
report describes sampling locations, procedures, and analyses
performed to characterize levels of hydrocarbon contamination.
The site is located just east of Highway 99, on East Waterloo
Road in Stockton. The location of the site is shown on the Site
Vicinity Map (Plate P-1) .
In January 1988, RAMCON, Inc. , of West Sacramento removed one
500-gallon, regular-leaded gasoline tank. ; According to the
property owner, RAMCON collected soil sampleslfrom approximately
17 feet below grade. Results of soil samples presented verbally
to Applied GeoSystems by Mr. Marlowe indicated that levels of
total volatile hydrocarbons as gasoline were 2 , 100 and 2 , 200
parts per million (ppm) , respectively. RAMCON excavated and
stockpiled approximately 45 cubic yards of soil on the property.
11 ii
The general configuration of stockpiled soil is shown on the
Generalized Site Plan (Plate P-2) . Previous work at the site,
summarized in our Report No. 38033-1 (dated August 5, 1988) ,
indicated the maximum concentration of total petroleum hydro-
carbons found in two soil borings at the sitewas 3 .4 ppm.
r
i
