One 500-gallon storage tank for
regular. gasoline was located at the site. According to Mr.
Luther Thompson of Marlowe Properties, the tank was removed in
January 1988.
® Samples of native soil were collected from locations below the
former tank. Results of soil analyses indicated that there has
been contamination of the soil below the former tank. In
response to the detected soil contamination, the tank cavity was
further excavated to an average depth of approximately 17 feet,
the safe operating limit of the equipment used. Laboratory
results of soil samples collected from approximately 17-feet
below grade indicate that a significant amount of contamination
exists.
This Work Plan describes further work proposed at this site,
including delineation of the vertical and lateral extent of soil
contamination and an evaluation of the degree to which ground-
water contamination may have occurred at the site. A series of
---
tasks is presented that is designed to provide necessary
his-site.-
---information- for assessment-of contamination--at__t
