June 7, 1988 AGS Job No. 035033-1 <br /> Marlowe Properties, Stockton, California <br /> Q <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> Information provided by Marlowe Properties personnel indicates <br /> that four underground storage tanks were located in various areas <br /> ra on the site. One 500-gallon tank was used to store regular <br /> leaded gasoline; the approximate former location of the tank is <br /> shown on the Generalized Site Plan. (plate P-2) . The contents and <br /> 44 locations of the other tanks are unknown to Applied Geosystems. <br /> RAMCON, Inc. , of West Sacramento removed the tanks in January <br /> 1987. <br /> According to the property owner, samples were collected from the <br /> base of the cavity for the Soo-gallon tank during tank removal <br /> operations by RAMCON. Samples collected were not analyzed for <br /> organic lead which led RAMCON to further excavate at a later date <br /> to collect samples to be analyzed for organic lead. Soil was <br /> excavated to approximately 17 feet below grade in the tank <br /> cavity. RAMCON collected samples at 17 feet below grade; these <br /> samples were analyzed for the volatile hydrocarbon constituents <br /> OR benzene, toluene; ethylbenzene, and .total xylene isomers (9TEx) <br /> Agency (EPA) Method 8020 and total <br /> by Environmental Protection <br /> volatile hydrocarbons by modified EPA Method 8015. Soil samples <br /> were also analyzed for total miscellaneous hydrocarbons, <br /> organic <br /> 2 <br /> "° Applied COOS 491"S <br />
