June 7, 1988 AGS Job No. 035033-1
Marlowe Properties, Stockton, California
Q
BACKGROUND
Information provided by Marlowe Properties personnel indicates
that four underground storage tanks were located in various areas
ra on the site. One 500-gallon tank was used to store regular
leaded gasoline; the approximate former location of the tank is
shown on the Generalized Site Plan. (plate P-2) . The contents and
44 locations of the other tanks are unknown to Applied Geosystems.
RAMCON, Inc. , of West Sacramento removed the tanks in January
1987.
According to the property owner, samples were collected from the
base of the cavity for the Soo-gallon tank during tank removal
operations by RAMCON. Samples collected were not analyzed for
organic lead which led RAMCON to further excavate at a later date
to collect samples to be analyzed for organic lead. Soil was
excavated to approximately 17 feet below grade in the tank
cavity. RAMCON collected samples at 17 feet below grade; these
samples were analyzed for the volatile hydrocarbon constituents
OR benzene, toluene; ethylbenzene, and .total xylene isomers (9TEx)
Agency (EPA) Method 8020 and total
by Environmental Protection
volatile hydrocarbons by modified EPA Method 8015. Soil samples
were also analyzed for total miscellaneous hydrocarbons,
organic
2
"° Applied COOS 491"S
