June 7, 1988 AGS Job No. 038033-1
Marlowe Properties, Stockton, California
perforated casing with 0.020-inch-wide slots. The well screen
will extend from the total depth of the well to approximately 10
feet above the ground-water surface. This interval will allow
sampling of the air/water interface during seasonal fluctuations
E of the ground-water level.
The well annulus will be packed with sorted sand to approximately
2 feet above the slotted interval of the casing. A 1- to 2-foot-
thick bentonite plug will be placed above the sand as a seal
against cement entering the sand pack. The remaining annulus will
be backfilled with neat cement to the ground surface.
The monitoring well will be protected with a cast-aluminum utility
.; box equipped with a PVC skirt. The box has a water-tight seal to
protect against surface water infiltration and requires a
specially designed wrench to open. This reduces the possibility
of either vandalism to or accidental disturbance of the well.
F
Water samples will.be collected for subjective analysis prior to
purging and development of the monitoring well. The samples will
be collected from the water surface in the well with a Teflon
bailer cleaned with Alconex and deionixed water. Any subjective
.4ppl ed GeaSystems
