Harding Lawson Associates
Laboratories, (NET Pacific) , located in Santa Rosa, California, a
state certified laboratory.
Monitoring wells were constructed of 2-inch diameter,
Schedule 40 PVC casing with 15 feet of slotted screen (0.02-inch
slot width) placed at the bottom of the boring. The wells were
constructed to screen the first encountered groundwater,
approximately 91 to 95 feet below grade. The total depth of
these wells is 100 feet, Well construction details are presented
in Appendix D. Ms. Margaret Lagorio, with the EHD, was on site
y to observe the grouting of all three monitoring wells.
Groundwater Sampling
Y On July 3, August 5, and September 3, 1991, HLA purged and
w, sampled groundwater from Mw--1, MW-2, and MW-3. Approximately 3
r
to 5 casing volumes of groundwater were bailed from each well
before the conductivity, pH, and temperature of the groundwater
stabilized. The monitoring wells were purged with a stainless
t
steel or pvc bailer and sampled using a stainless steel bailer.
Prior to purging each well and then again prior to sampling, the
bailers were washed with an Alconox (soap) and water solution and
rinsed with deionized water.
WAdditionally, on August 5, 1991, HLA sampled groundwater
from the on-site domestic well by first turning on the wellrs
. submersible pump and then collecting a water sample from a valve
, £ directly above the outlet pipe near the ground surface. On
September 3, 1991, HLA collected a_-trip blank-and-an-equipment--
_` -- - --
6
