i 3.0 'REVISED WORK PLAN
4
The objectives of the proposed scope of work are to further define the lateral extent of impacted soil
and groundwater, and to define the vertical extent of impacted groundwater beneath the former
UST. To achieve these objectives, three soil,borings•,willWbe,drilled.to_first wgroundwater and one
cone penetration test soil boring will be drilled to a deeper groundwater-bearing interval for soil
and/or groundwater sampling.
x 3.1 Project Planning and Permitting
i Prior to initiating fieldwork, a site-specific health and safety plan will be prepared according to 29
I i CFR 1910.120. The health and safety plan will.include safety procedures for work to be performed,
chemical hazard information, site safety officers, and.a medical emergency location.
i . To perform the proposed scope of work, drilling permits will oe obtained from EHD. Since all of the
drilling will be conducted on-site, neither off-site access agreements nor encroachment permits will
 •i
be required. At least two working days prior to field work, Ramage.,Environmental will notify EHD
i
and Underground Service Alert so that regulatory and utility inspections can be scheduled.
l . 3.2 Three Soil Borings to First Groundwater
{ To further assess the lateral extent of impacted soil and groundwater, soil and gro ,dwater
samples will be collected from three on-site soil borings drilled tofirst groundwat r!(The proposed
1 soil borings will be located in the southwest corner of the sub`-grade parking area, in the southeast
I ;' A
t corner of the street grade asphalt parking area, and in the sub-grade parking area approximately.Per
feet north of monitoring well MW-1. These proposed boring locations are shown on Figure 3.
A C-57 licensed drilling contractor will drill the soil borings with 8-in8h diameter hollow-stem augers.
The proposed soil borings will be drilled to further evaluate a':silty d interval previously-
encountered at approximately 30 to 35 feet below street grade. Since the sub-grade parking area
is approximately 11 feet below_street grade, the soil borings pro osed for the sub-grade parking
area should only be drilled to a depth of approximately 25 feet The ultimate depths of the soil
€ borings will depend ona ithdogic and by geologic conditions observed during drilling.
9
i 9
I
I .
