Consistent with previous quarterly groundwater analytical results, the highest concentrations of
gasoline compounds were detected in the sample collected from MW-1 727 micrograms per liter
(µg/l) of TPH-as-gasoline, 84 5 µgll of benzene, 2 7 µg/I of toluene, 87 1 µg11 of ethylbenzene,
49 8 µg11 of xylenes, and 2 7 µg11 of MTBE Only MTBE was detected in MW-2 at 4 1 µg11 and in
MW-3 at 2 8 µg11 The groundwater sample analytical results are summarized in Table 2, the
distribution of gasoline in groundwater is shown on Figure 5, and the laboratory reports are
included in Appendix B
Between September 21, and December 30, 2005, gasoline compounds in groundwater remained
relatively consistent in all three wells Concentrations of gasoline compounds in groundwater at
MW-1 have generally declined, since the monitoring wells were installed in July 2002, probably
due to source removal efforts and natural attenuation processes Since March 2004,
concentrations of MTBE have been detected in the perimeter wells (MW-2 and MW-3) During
the fourth quarter of 2005, the MTBE concentrations detected in all three wells were below the
' S
state of California Secondary Maximum Contaminant bevel (MCL) of 5 µg/l
8
