LABORATORY ANALYSES AND RESULTS <br /> All of the soil samples collected from beneath the former underground fuel storage tanks, fuel <br /> dispenser islands, and underground product pipelines and from the associated soil stockpile were <br /> analyzed by California Laboratory Services, Inc , (CLS) of Rancho Cordova. California for <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons in the range of gasoline (TPHg) using Environmental <br /> Protection Agency (EPA) Method 8015 (modified) with purge and trap EPA Method 5030 <br /> and/or <br /> • Total petroleum hydrocarbons in the range of diesel fuel (TPHd) using EPA Method 8015 <br /> (modified) with sonication EPA Method 3550 and <br /> • Volatile organic compounds benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylene isomers (BTEX) <br /> using EPA Method 8020 with purge and trap EPA Method 5030 <br /> In addition to these analyses, the four soil samples collected from beneath former underground <br /> storage tanks T1 and T2 and the four soil sample composites collected from the soil stockpiles were <br /> analyzed for <br /> • Total lead using EPA Method 7421 <br /> • All of the soil samples collected from beneath the former underground storage tanks and from <br /> beneath the former fuel dispenser islands were analyzed for <br /> • Volatile oxygenates di-isopropyl ether, ethyl t-butyl ether, methyl t-butyl ether t-amyl <br /> methyl ether, and t-butyl alcohol using EPA Method 8260 <br /> Soil samples collected from the area of overexcavation and from beneath the abandoned product <br /> pipeline were analyzed for TPHg, TPHd and BTEX compounds using the aforementioned analytical <br /> methods CLS is accredited by the State of California to perform all of these analyses <br /> Laboratory results of soil samples collected from beneath the former underground storage tanks at <br /> the site indicated that elevated concentrations of TPHg, TPHd, and BTEX compounds were detected <br /> in the soil sample collected from beneath the northern end of storage tank T1 (Tln on Table 1) Low <br /> concentrations of TPHg and/or one or more of the BTEX compounds were detected in soil collected <br /> from beneath the northern ends of the two fuel dispenser islands (FD 1 and FD2 on Table 1) <br /> Detectable concentrations of TPHg, TPHd and BTEX compounds were not found in soil samples <br /> collected from beneath any of the other underground storage tanks, fuel dispenser islands, or any of <br /> the underground product delivery pipelines Concentrations of total lead were not detected at or <br /> greater than 10 parts per million (ppm) in any of the soil samples analyzed for total lead (Table 1) <br /> The laboratory reports for these soil samples are presented in Appendix A <br /> • <br /> GRAYLAND EAWRON11E.UTAL <br /> Grayland 022-160 trr 4 <br />
