Pep Boys Store #711
Soil Disposal,,-
Dear Mr. nferna:
On 9 March 1998; Bay Area Soil picked up`12 drums of soil generated during the Fall 1997 soil
investigation at Pep Boys Store #711. Enclosed please find 'copies of the Bay Area Soil Non-
Hazardous Materials Manifest;-a note from Bay Area Soil stating that the drums were recycled
at Myers Drums after triple rinsing, a certificate Bay Area.Soil provided to state that the 12
drums of hydrocarbon containing soil were recycled, and copies of the laboratory data sent to 2
Bay Area Soil which allowed them to accept the 12 drums of,soil for destruction. Note that the
final copy of the RCI laboratory data was dated 31 March 1998. Bay Area Soil was sent a fax
containing the preliminary laboratory results, however, these results did not change.
I realize that you had indicated by telephone that the Bay Area Soil non-hazardous manifest was
irregular, but this is their standard non-hazardous materials manifest and it would be improper
to ask them to create new paperwork since the transporter VIvould be signing the paperwork
several days after the drums were.picked up:
,
I hope`that this submittal meets your needs"for project closeout.
