Quarterly Report - Fourth Quarter 2002 <br /> MANTECA CITY CORPORATION YARD <br /> I210 East Wetmore Street, Manteca, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr Frederic Clark of the City of Manteca, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 210 E Wetmore Street,Manteca, <br /> California The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure 1 Structures,boring and well <br /> locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information is summarized in the AGE-prepared <br /> Additional Site Assessment Work Plan -August 2001, dated 25 January 2001 <br /> r <br /> 2.0 PROCEDURES <br /> Seven ground water monitoring wells (MW 1 through MW7) were monitored and sampled on <br /> 18 October 2002 Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central <br /> Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) <br /> 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> A Sohnst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in the seven wells to the <br /> nearest 0 01 foot relative to the tops of the well casings The ground water elevations and gradient <br /> were determined from these data(Table 1) <br /> After recording water level measurements,disposable plastic bailers were used to purge monitoring <br /> wells MW1 through MW7 of standing water Approximately 4 25 to 4 60 gallons of water <br /> (a minimum of 3 casing water-volumes per well) were removed from wells MW 1 through MW7 <br /> Ground water temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging <br /> using an Oakton water analyzer Purged ground water was containerized in properly labeled <br /> DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon drums and was stored on-site Field sheets and data are <br /> included in Appendix A <br /> I22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from the monitoring wells using new disposable bailers after allowing <br /> the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water sample <br /> was transferred into three 40-m1 VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample <br /> preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative After collection, the <br /> samples were properly labeled,placed in a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody <br /> IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
