INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr Frederic Clark of the City of Manteca, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc
' (AGE)has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 210 E Wetmore Street,Manteca,
California The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure I Structures, boring and well
' locations are illustrated on Figure 2 Background information is summarized in the Monitoring Well
Installation Work Plan, dated 25 January 2001, prepared by AGE
' 2.0. PROCEDURES
' Field work was conducted and this report was prepared in accordance with guidelines issued by the
Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for subsurface investigation
of underground storage tank(UST)sites and guidelines issued by San Joaquin County Public Health
' Services-Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)for sampling ground water monitoring wells
' 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION
On 18 October 2001, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in
' the four on-site monitoring wells (MW I through MW4)relative to the tops of the well casings The
ground water elevations and gradient were determined from these data (Table 1)
After recording water level measurements,a disposable plastic bailer was used to purge monitoring
wells MW 1 through MW4 of standing water Approximately 5 gallons of water(a minimum of 3
' casing water-volumes per well)were removed from MW 1 through MW4 Groundwater temperature,
pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an ICM water analyzer
Purged ground water was containerized in properly labeled DOT-approved model 17H 55-gallon
drums and was stored on-site Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A
I27 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers Each
I water sample was transferred into three 40-mi VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%hydrochloric acid
as a sample preservative and into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative After
collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and transported under
chain-of custody to McCampbell Analytical,Inc (MAI)a State of California Department of Health
. Services (DHS)-certified analytical laboratory The samples were analyzed for
Advanced GeaEnvironmental,Inc
