17 August 2001
AGE-NC Project No 99-0637
The analytical results of ground water samples are summarized on Table 2 The laboratory reports
(MAI Lab I D No 72274 through 72277), QA/QC report and chain-of-custody form are included in
Appendix B
I
4.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
Based on the data collected from the site, AGE finds
• Ground water flow at the site on 11 July 2001 was inferred to be generally toward the west
at a low gradient of 0 0005 feet/feet
• MTBE was detected in the ground water sample collected from MW4 at a concentration of
12,000 µg/l (EPA Method 8260) No other analytes were detected in the ground water
samples collected at the site The lateral extent of MTBE-impacted ground water has been
I defined toward the northeast through southeast, but is not defined from north to west to south
of MW4, located west of the former UST pit The current MTBE isocontour map is depicted
on Figure 4
' 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the findings of the environmental activities recounted in this report, AGE recommends
I • Quarterly monitoring of the ground water monitoring wells on-site The next monitoring
event should be performed in October 2001
• Preparation of a work plan to define the lateral and vertical extent of MTBE-impacted soil
ground water
6 0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation ofthe hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of available data
points(ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data points No
Iother warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional recommendations contained in
this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmentsl,Inc
I
