1 <br /> 1 <br /> Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br />' Manteca City Corp. Yard <br /> 210 East Wetmore Street, Manteca, California <br /> I1.0. INTRODUCTION <br />' In accordance with the request of Mr Jeff Southern of California Hazardous Services, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental,Inc (AGE) has prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report <br /> (PIER) for 210 East Wetmore (the site), Manteca, California The scope of work included <br />' advancement of three soil probe borings and collection and analysis of soil and ground water <br /> samples The location of the site and its surroundings are illustrated on Figure 1, mayor features on <br /> the site and soil probe boring locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br />' This was investigation performed in accordance with guidelines of the San Joaquin County Public <br /> g <br /> Health Services - Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and of the Central Valley Regional <br />' Water Quality Control Board for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br />' 2.0. BACKGROUND <br />' One 10,000-gallon diesel UST (TK1), one 10,000-gallon leaded gasoline UST (TK2) and one <br /> 10,000-gallon unleaded gasoline UST (TK3) were removed from the site on 05 August 1999 <br /> According to San Joaquin County PHS-EHD the USTs were installed at the site in 1966 Two soil <br />' samples were collected from beneath each UST and eight samples were collected from the soil <br /> stockpile Based on field observations and analytical results of soil samples collected during the tank <br /> removal, the PHS-EHD directed that a subsurface investigation be performed at the site to delineate <br />' the vertical and horizontal extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water In <br /> accordance with PHS-EHD directives, procedures for a subsurface investigation were presented in <br /> the AGE-prepared Site Investigation Work Plan, dated 21 January 2000, which was approved by the <br />' PHS-EHD by letter dated i l February 2000 <br />' 21 SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is located in a commercial/industrial area of South Manteca, California, at an approximate <br />' elevation of 35 feet above mean sea level The site is presently occupied by the City of Manteca <br /> Corporation Yard Currently the site operates above-ground fuel storage tanks (ASTs) that have <br />' subsequently been installed over the former UST pit location There are no other apparent source <br /> areas for the identified contaminants located on the site <br /> Advanced GcoEnvironmentat,Inc <br /> I <br />
