IQuarterly Report - Fourth Quarter 2003 <br /> MANTECA CITY CORPORATION YARD <br /> I210 East Wetmore Street, Manteca, California <br /> I1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> I At the request of Mr Frederic Clark of the City of Manteca, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc <br /> (AGE) has prepared this quarterly report for the property located at 210 East Wetmore Street, <br /> Manteca, California The site and the surrounding area are illustrated on Figure i Structures and <br /> Iwell locations are illustrated on Figure 2 <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br /> Ten ground water monitoring wells (MW1 through MW10) were monitored and sampled on <br /> 17 November 2003 Field work was performed in accordance with guidelines issued by the Central <br /> Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) for the investigation of underground <br /> storage tank (UST) sites <br /> I <br /> 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND PURGING <br /> On 17 November 2003, the depth to ground water in all ten monitoring wells was measured from <br /> the top of each well casing to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter Ground <br /> Iwater elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from <br /> the surveyed casing elevation(Table 1) <br /> After water levels were measured, between 3 5 and 4 25 gallons of water(a minimum of 3 casing- <br /> water volumes per well)were purged froze monitoring wells MW 1 through MW6 and MW8 through <br /> MW 10 using dedicated,disposable plastic bailers Approximately 2 0 gallons of water were removed <br /> from well MW7 before the well was purged dry using a dedicated, disposable plastic bailer Ground <br /> water temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at regular intervals during purging using an <br /> Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored <br /> in properly labeled DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and stored on-site <br /> 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable plastic bailers after <br /> allowing the wells to achieve a minimum 80%recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water <br /> sample was transferred into one 1-liter amber bottle without sample preservative and into three <br /> 40-m1 volatile organic analysis (VOA) vials containing 0 5 ml 18% hydrochloric acid as a sample <br /> . preservative After collection, the samples were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and <br /> transported under chain-of-custody to McCampbell Analytical,Inc (MAI),a California Department <br /> of Health Services-certified analytical laboratory, for analysis The samples were analyzed for <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc <br /> f <br />
