LFR Levine-Fricke <br /> to the Site, the work, activities, site personnel, workers, persons, or subcontractors in <br /> this HSP are with respect to LFR work only. <br /> 2.0 SITE DESCRIPTION AND BACKGROUND <br /> The Site consists of approximately 50 acres of land located between the Teichert <br /> Aggregate and RMC Pacific Materials aggregate mining operations in Tracy, <br /> California. The Site is a former gravel quarry, with associated surface topography <br /> consisting of irregular hills and gravel pits. The surrounding natural grade is <br /> approximately 60 feet higher than low-lying pits located within the Site. <br /> Large quantities of tires were illegally stored in 34 different tire piles located in gravel <br /> pits at the Site. Waste tire materials in these piles at the Site caught fire in 1998 and <br /> were allowed to bum, leaving behind tire waste materials. <br /> 3.0 PLANNED SITE ACTIVITIES <br /> Scheduled work will consist of the following activities: <br /> • installation of one groundwater monitoring wells <br /> • collecting groundwater samples from the site wells on a quarterly basis <br /> Work is anticipated to begin during April 2003 and quarterly monitoring is expected to <br /> last approximately two years. <br /> 4.0 KEY PROJECT PERSONNEL AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> Project Manager James E. Eisert, R.G. <br /> Site Safety Officer Dan Schreiner <br /> Corporate Director, Health and Safety James Bucha, CIH, CSP <br /> The responsibilities of key project personnel are outlined below. <br /> 4.1 Project Manager <br /> The Project Manager has the ultimate responsibility for the health and safety of LFR <br /> personnel at the Site.
