LFR Levine-Fricke <br /> 4.0 QUARTERLY MONITORING <br /> ' i <br /> 4.1 Water-Level Measurements <br /> Depth to groundwater will be measured in the five groundwater monitoring wells <br /> (MW-1 through MW-5) on a quarterly basis. The production well (PW-1) will not be <br /> sampled on a quarterly basis and depth to water will not be measured during the <br /> -� quarterly sampling events. Well PW-1 will be screened in a deeper interval and may <br /> not reflect the groundwater table elevations of the five monitoring wells. <br /> Water levels will be measured in each well prior to groundwater sampling with an <br /> electronic water level probe. The water level probe will be cleaned using laboratory- <br /> grade detergent solution prior to each measurement. Water levels and casing elevations <br /> will be used to assess the groundwater flow direction and gradient beneath the Site. <br /> j Field procedures are further discussed in Appendix A. <br /> 4.2 Groundwater Sampling <br /> i <br /> Groundwater samples will be collected from the five monitoring wells on a quarterly <br /> basis. <br /> Each well will be purged prior to sampling by removing at least 3 well casing volumes <br /> j of water. The specific conductance, pH, and temperature of the removed water will be <br /> measured and observed during well purging. The water-quality parameters and other <br /> pertinent information will be recorded on field water sampling sheets. Samples will be <br /> collected after the water parameters have stabilized. Groundwater samples will be <br /> collected from the well using a dedicated bailer at each well, and poured into <br /> laboratory-supplied containers. Each container will be capped; labeled with the well <br /> identification, time and date of sample collection, and analysis requested; and will be <br /> placed in a chilled cooler for transport to the laboratory. <br /> Standard chain-of-custody protocol will be followed during the sample handling <br /> process. Water generated during sampling activities will be stored in 55-gallon drums, <br /> sampled, and analyzed for appropriate disposal.
