[J
The soil samples were submitted to Severn Trent Laboratory, Inc. (STL), a State-certified
laboratory, for chemical analysis. Each soil sample was analyzed for moisture content, pH,
CAM-17 total metals concentrations analysis by EPA Method 6020 and 7471A, and
leaching concentrations of lead using the soluble threshold limit concentration (STLC) and
the toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP). Attachment I provides a summary
Of the analytical methods, results, and screening criteria concentrations.
CAIM-17 Total Metals Results
Analytical results did not exceed the total threshold limit concentration (TTLC) screening
criteria for the nine soil samples collected.
STLC Results
The STLC analytical results indicate concentrations in three soil samples (AA-00, AA-10,
and BB-00) exceed the lead STLC screening criteria (5 mg/l) for Class I non-Resource
Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) hazardous waste. The concentrations of each of
the three samples are provided below:
• Sample AA-00 contains lead at 22.6 mg/1
• Sample AA-10 contains lead at 47.4 mg/l
• Sample BB-00 contains lead at 55.1 mg/I
TCLP Results
Analytical results did not exceed the TCLP screening criteria for the nine soil samples
collected.
Summary
Based on these results, a California-permitted Class I landfill facility should be contacted
regarding acceptance of the soil in the vicinity of samples AA-00, AA-10, and BB-00 for
disposal as Class I non-RCRA hazardous waste. The remaining soil analytical results that
did not exceed Class I hazardous waste criteria can be provided to a Class = landfill for
their consideration.
2
