Air Monitoring Program Purpose The purpose of the monitoring program at the Tracy Tire Fire Site is to identify, evaluate and control chemical hazards during remedial actions. Specifically the program should be able to: 7] Identify the materials of concern [chemical hazards] as well as physical hazards]; 21 Provide proper health and safety equipment as needed to protect against chemical exposures and physical hazards; 3] Provide information to operations for administrative or engineering controls and/or changes, if feasible; 4] Submit data to regulatory agencies for compliance purposes. Sukut Construction is responsible for the monitoring of chemical and physical agents, which pose a threat to the health and safety of the workers at the site. This will be achieved by utilizing SP Environmental Services in the role of Project Industrial Hygienist/Consultant. The Project Manager in conjunction with the Project Industrial Hygienist will re-evaluate all operations as the project develops. As the project proceeds, materials are used, and potential new hazards identified the air monitoring program may need to be updated to determine potential exposure to other substances and provide adequate protection to the workers as needed. Chemical Hazard Sampling Strategy and Methodologies g s Direct Reading Instruments SPES developed an air monitoring strategy, which included the collection of Sampling using direct reading instruments will be utilized when immediate information is required to insure that personnel are properly protected.
