Less Than Significant Impact. Impacts to archaeological resources are not anticipated
because the entire Site has been previously disturbed. However, it is possible that buried
or otherwise previously unobserved resources may be discovered during excavation.
The RAP requires that, if previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered
during excavation, the project sponsor is required to cease work in the immediate area
until a qualified archaeologist and the County of San Joaquin can assess the significance
of the find and make conservation recommendations, if warranted (OHP 1995 and
CNAHC 2003). To achieve this goal, the contractor shall instruct excavation personnel
about the need for proper and timely reporting of such finds, and the consequence of any
failure to report them. The implementation of this conservation measure would reduce the
impacts associated with archaeological resources to a less-than-significant level. This
process has been integrated into the overall project plan.
C. Directly or indirectly destroy a unique paleontological resource or site or unique geologic
feature.
Less Than Significant Impact. As the entire Site has been previously disturbed, impacts
to significant paleontological resources are not anticipated. Disturb any human remains, including those interred outside of formal cemeteries.
No Impact. As the entire Site has been previously disturbed, impacts to human remains
are not anticipated. However, it is possible that such remains may be discovered during
excavation. However, as part of conservation measures incorporated into the project
description, the project sponsor would designate a qualified person to monitor areas of
foundation excavations for the presence of human remains. If human remains are
encountered, the County Coroner will be contacted. If the Coroner determines that the
remains are Native American, then local Native American organizations will be consulted.
Findings of Significance:
❑ Potentially Significant Impact
❑ Potentially Significant Unless Mitigated
X Less Than Significant Impact
❑ No Impact
6.
