sb 9.5 Communications Several warning systems may be utilized depending on the work site conditions or emergency involved. Verbal instructions between workers are typically adeQuate to communicate steps that are required in emergency situations. In cases where parts of the crew are distant from the center of activity, vehicle horns may be necessary to indicate site emergencies. This type of communication needs to be followed by verbal instructions for necessary emergency actions. 9.5.1 External Communications External communications necessary for off-site transmission will consist of cellular telephones and a hard phone line located in the main Support Zone trailer. 9.5.2 Internal Communications Internal communications will consist of a combination of two-way hand held radios and hand signals selected by the Project Superintendent. 9.6 Evacuation Routes 9.6.1 Requirements - All Personnel In case of an emergency or hazardous situation, the person that observes this condition shall immediately sound an air-horn alarm. The following individuals/locations will require an air-horn for emergency use.
