Quality Assurance
Requirements
6.1 Quality Control and Quality Assurance Samples
6.1.1 Duplicate and Replicate Sampling
Field quality control (QQ samples will consist of the collection of
a duplicate sample for 10% of the sample locations where grab
samples are collected, per matrix and per method. Field duplicate
samples will be collected by collecting two sample volumes at the
sampling location. A replicate sample will be collected for 10% of
all composite samples collected for each method with a minimum
of at least one replicate for per method per sampling event.
Replicate samples will be collected by splitting a homogenized
sample volume into two containers before the samples are sent for
laboratory analysis. The duplicate and replicate samples will be
submitted "blind" to the laboratory.
6.1.2 Reference or Background Sampling
At least one background soil samples will be collected from an off-
site location. Information gathered during the well sampling event
of August 14, 1998 will be used as background groundwater
results.
6.1.3 Field Generated Blank Samples
Equipment field blank samples will be collected once a day by
pouring di-water over decontaminated sample equipment and
collecting the rinse water in sample jars.
6.1.4 Matrix Spike/Matrix Spike Duplicates
At a minimum, one sample per 20 samples, per matrix will be
submitted to a laboratory for analysis for each analytical parameter
and designated as a sample required MS/MSD. Additional volume
will be collected for these samples if the are groundwater. See
Table 5-2 for a list of MS/MSD samples to be submitted.
6.1.5 Performance Samples
Performance samples will not be submitted to the laboratory.
09:C:\MyFi1"\PROJECT\Tracy_Tire\QASP\QASP_0339.wpd-12/1/98 6-1
