Disposal of Investigation <br /> Derived Waste <br /> In the process of collecting environmental samples at the site, the <br /> START team will generate different types of potentially <br /> IDW contaminated investigation-derived wastes (IDW) that include the <br /> investigation-derived following: <br /> wastes <br /> • Used personal protective equipment (PPE), <br /> PPE <br /> personal protective • Disposable sampling equipment, and <br /> equipment <br /> • Soil excess soil sample <br /> Listed below are the procedures that will be followed for handling <br /> the IDW: <br /> • Used PPE and disposable equipment will be double bagged <br /> and placed in a municipal refuse dumpster. These wastes <br /> are not considered hazardous and can be sent to a municipal <br /> landfill. Any PPE and disposable equipment that are to be <br /> disposed of which can still be reused will be rendered <br /> inoperable before disposal in the refuse dumpster. <br /> • Excess soil generated by the collection of extra volume and <br /> from samples not submitted to a laboratory for analysis will <br /> be placed at their respective sample locations. <br /> • Disposable sampling equipment will be double bagged and <br /> staged at the site. <br /> 09:CAMyFi1es\PROJECT\Trary_Tire\QASP\QASP_0339.wpd-11/30/98 7-1 <br />
