The report entitled, "Additional Soil and
Groundwater Investigation and Monitoring Well Installation Report for the Tracy Tire
Fire Site, Former Royster Tire Disposal Facility, Tracy, California," prepared by LFR
and dated April 6, 2006 ("the April 2006 Groundwater Investigation Report"; LFR
2006a) provides details regarding the installation and sampling of wells MW-6 and
MW-7 and soil borings SB-1 and SB-2. The soil and groundwater investigation was
conducted to assess the presence and extent of newly discovered pyrolytic oil in the
north-northwestern portion of the Site.
Well MW-8 was installed off site and downgradient from the Site to monitor
downgradient groundwater quality. Well MW-8 was installed, developed, and sampled
during April 11 through 14, 2006. Details regarding the installation and sampling
results of well MW-8 are provided in the "Monitoring Well MW-8 Installation Report,
Tracy Tire Fire Site," prepared by LFR and dated May 31, 2006.
Well MW-9 was installed off site and downgradient from well MW-8 to monitor
downgradient groundwater quality. Well MW-9 was installed, developed, and sampled
during July 11 through 14, 2006. Details regarding the installation and sampling results
of well MW-9 are provided in the "Monitoring Well MW-9 Installation Report, Tracy
Tire Fire Site," prepared by LFR and dated August 11, 2006.
5.5.3 Well Construction Summary
Available well construction details for wells MW-1 through MW-9 are provided in
Table 3.
rpt-RA_summ-Nov06-fina1-09025 Page 27
