San Joaquin Street • P.O. Boz 388 0 Stockton, CA 95201-0388
(209) 468-3420
HAROLD AND DENA KNOWLES COFT
19381 FAWN DRIVE
LODI CA 95243
JUN 0 61994
RE: 102 S. Wilson Way SITE CODE: 9031
Stockton, Ca
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health
Division (PHS/EHD) staff and the State of California Regional
Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) staff recently met to
discuss the present and future compliance status of the above
noted site. Possible future enforcement action was also
discussed at the meeting. As you have submitted an application
to the State of California Petroleum Underground Storage Tank
Cleanup Fund Program (Fund) , you should be aware of the following
determinations concerning the compliance of this site.
There are several active municipal water supply wells located
near this site. As such, and in the interest of public safety
and for the protection of the groundwater resource, the
investigation and cleanup of petroleum hydrocarbons at this site
must proceed in a timely manner. In the recent past much time
has been spent on issues other than those creating or promoting
progress with regard to the cleanup at this site. This lack of
progress may directly affect your eligibility for reimbursement
by the Fund.
As you are listed as a responsible party for this site and as you
have not yet initiated, participated, or completed any site work,
this letter shall serve as a directive to you to begin the
required investigation and cleanup for this site.
By initiating investigative work by the date indicated below, you
will show substantial compliance with the directives from this
office, you will promote progress at this site, and you may
prevent pending enforcement action against you and the other
responsible parties listed for the site.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
