Wilson Way SITE CODE: 9031
Stockton, Ca
San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD) has received a letter from your attorney, Jeanne Zolezzi, dated
September 1, 1993, concerning the status of the underground storage tanks
previously located in the sidewalk at 101 South Wilson Way and has the
following comments.
On September 19, 1986 two 500 gallon underground storage tanks were removed
from the above noted location under permit and guidance of this agency. The
field observations of PHS/EHD staff as well as the verification laboratory
results of the soil samples taken from underneath the two tanks indicate that
there has not been a release of petroleum from the two tanks. As of this
date, PHS/EHD has no data available indicating that a release of petroleum has
ever occurred from the tanks.
Therefore, PHS/EHD will not direct the City of Stockton to conduct an
investigation at this location. Although the detection limits used by the
laboratory in 1986 would not meet current standards, that alone does not
justify an investigation, particularly because there is no evidence of a
release from the tanks in question.
If data is available indicating a release has occurred from these tanks and
that the release from these tanks has impacted your site at 102 South Wilson
Way, you may submit the data to PHS/EHD for review.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, please contact
Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-3441.
Jogi Khanna, M.D. , M.P.H.
alth Officer J
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
DH/Lt
c: CVRWQCB-Beth Thayer
c: SWRCB-Lori Casias
c: City of Stockton-James Giottonini
c: Union Safe Deposit Bank-John Donlon
c: Neumiller and Beardslee-Jeanne Zolezzi
c: Pepsi Cola San Joaquin Bottling Company-Ed Maren
c: Harold and Dena Knowles
A Division of San Joaquin Courcy He th Care Semcn 10
