Weber Ave., 3`d Floor
Stockton, CA 95202
Subject: Modifications to Workplan for Confirmation Borings and Remedial
Effectiveness Evaluation—Knowles/Roek Property, 102 South Wilson Way,
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Rowe:
I am writing to memorialize my recent phone conversations with you and with Mr. Marty
Hartzell with RWQCB concerning our June 27 Workplan Addendum. It was agreed that
approval of the fate and transport modeling, remedial effectiveness evaluation and health
risk evaluation portions of the Workplan would be postponed pending the results of
confirmation borings.
You and Mr. Hartzell informed me that you would also like to see the following
modifications to the workscope:
• Two additional exploratory borings, one to be located between wells MW5 and
MW 13 and a second to be located west of MW 1 and MW6. This makes a
total of six soil borings.
• Boring CPTI/CB1 (located within the former tankpit) to be advanced to a
minimum depth of 110 feet. The other borings to be advanced to minimum
depths of 80 feet, or deeper if indications of contamination persist.
• At each boring location, a cone penetrometer test (CPT) hole to be advanced
as a preliminary lithological identification tool. Each CPT boring to be
twinned for sampling and soil and groundwater samples collected from
intervals of interest as identified from the CPT data and previous data.
