(Stratus). l
..
EHD is reviewing the data available for your site (the-1,30 site) and the
:f underground!' storage tank (UST) sites at 1b2 S. Wilson Way (the 102 site) and
`E 101 S. Wilson Way (the 101 site) to better'lunderstand the plume(s) of dissolved
I methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE) that appears to be migrating northeasterly
between the'l 130 site and 102 site. At the present:time the plume appears' to
extend from Roek well MW-14 to Roek Well ;' MW-158, a distance of
a approximately 280 feet from your UST area and approximately 360 feet from the
101 site. The data to date suggests that the MTBE ;plume is not related to the
release(s) on the 102 site and the consultant for that site has requested that
responsibility for the wells installed on the ;102 site currently primarily utilized to
monitor the MTBE plume be transferred to the proper responsible party. EHD
cannot assign ownership and responsibility for wells to other parties, but can
direct responsible parties to properly investigate, characterize and monitor their
+I plumes. Exchange of well ownership, etc; must be worked out between the
parties involved and EHD urges all parties tb work cooperatively on this issue:°At
this time, it appears to EHD that, most likely, the dissolved MTBE plume was
released on either the 101 site or the 130 site, or on both.
i
EHD has previously requested, by letter dated 01 December 2004, that you have
a site conceptual model prepared to utilize, in part, for resolving this issue.
Review of that letter shows that EHD did not include a due date in that letter,
therefore you are directed to submit the SCM to EHD no later than 03 january
2006. Please' have your consultant review the data from the three known-sites in
the area and, in the context of an overall site conceptual model (SCM); offer a
professional opinion as to the source or sources of the MTBE and the proportions
contributed by each. The model should show contaminant-migration pathways
k f^ 4
13 ,
