o V <br /> Mr.Nuel Henderson, SJCEHD November 4,2005 <br /> Well Installation Work Plan <br /> ARCO Station 5469,Stockton,California <br /> Page 3 <br /> Stratus has been operating and maintaining an ozone injection in-situ groundwater <br /> remediation system since December 2002. ,Ozone injection into the 'saturated zone is <br /> ongoing. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The objective of the proposed work is to further characterize the extent of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon impact to soil and groundwater. To accomplish'these objectives, Stratus is <br /> proposing the following activities: <br /> 0 Complete three (3) 4-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells (MW-11 <br /> through MW-13) to a depth of approximately 53 feet bgs using 10-inch diameter <br /> hollow-stem augers. <br /> • Collect soil samples in 5-foot intervals during the advancement of each well <br /> boring. <br /> • Develop and sample the newly installed monitoring wells. <br /> • Update the monitoring well survey for the site. <br /> The proposed scope of work has been subdivided into tasks 1 through 4. Details are <br /> provided for the activities associated with'each task. All work will be conducted under <br /> the direct supervision of a State of California Professional Geologist, and will be <br /> conducted in accordance with "standards established by the Tri-Regional Board <br /> Recommendationsfor Preliminary Assessment of Underground Tank.:Site (April 2004) <br /> and SJCEHD guidelines. A California-licensed C-57 drilling contractor will perform all <br /> drilling and well construction activities. Stratus' Field Practices and Procedures that will <br /> be utilized during the subsurface investigation are provided in Appendix A. <br /> Task 1: Pre-field Activities <br /> Following approval of this Work Plan, the following activities will be completed: <br /> • Obtain well'installation permits from SJCEHD, <br /> Retain and schedule a licensed C-57 drilling contactor, <br /> I� • Update the health and safety plan for the site, <br /> Mark boring locations and contact Underground Service Alert to locate underground <br /> utilities in the vicinity of the work site, and . <br /> • Notify SJCEHD of the scheduled field activities. <br /> II <br /> KABp-Arco for URS154691Work Plans\Arco5469-well install workplan-2005.doc STRATUS <br />
