(Stratus), on behalf of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO),
is submitting this report documenting well installation and additional environmental
assessment activities completed at ARCO Facility No. 5469, 130 South Wilson Way,
Stockton, California (Figure 1). Stratus implemented the on-site portion of the work
activities outlined in the Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment and Interim
Remediation/Feasibility Testing submitted by Delta Environmental Consultants (Delta)
on March 2, 2002. San Joaquin County Public Health Services/Environmental Health
Department (PHSIEHD) approved the work plan in a letter dated March 21, 2002.
The purpose of this proposed scope of work was to further characterize subsurface
relations beneath the site, to further evaluate the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum
hydrocarbon impact, and to install the wells necessary to evaluate the effectiveness and
feasibility of ozone microsparging as a remedial option for the site.
The March 2, 2002, work plan proposed the advancement of one cone penetrometer test
(CPT) boring, installation of three additional groundwater monitoring wells, and the
installation of five ozone injection wells and associated remedial system. The CPT
boring has been completed and the ozone injection wells have been installed. The ozone
remediation system was installed in December 2002, and was documented in Stratus'
report titled Installation of Ozone Injection System and Remediation Status Report, dated
January 31, 2003. Stratus is submitting this report prior to the installation of the
monitoring wells because attempts to obtain an access agreement from the property
PABA-Arco for URS154691Reports15469report2003.doc
