(Stratus) has prepared this report on behalf of Atlantic Richfield <br /> Company (ARCO) to document the status of the installation and operation of the ozone injection <br /> system at ARCO Service Station No. 5469, located at 130 South Wilson Way, Stockton, <br /> California (see Figure 1). Stratus has prepared this report in accordance with the reporting <br /> schedule presented in the Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment and Interim <br /> Remediation/Feasibility Testing dated March 4 2002. This report presents details associated with <br /> construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of the ozone injection system. In addition, <br /> this report also presents the current site remediation status based on field parameters collected <br /> after start-up and operation of the ozone injection system. <br /> Stratus oversaw JEM Industries construct and install the ozone injection system between <br /> December 3 and 5, 2002. The ozone injection system is currently operational and Stratus is <br /> collecting field and analytical data to evaluate the system performance. <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The subject site is an active retail gas station located at the northeast corner of the intersection of <br /> Wilson way and Washington. Street. Current site facilities include a retail store, three 12,000 <br /> gallon underground storage tanks (USTs), and four fuel dispensing islands. <br /> In February 1999, product lines and associated dispensers were removed and replaced. Samples <br /> collected in the vicinity of the dispenser islands indicated the presence of total petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG) at concentrations up to 7.32 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg), <br /> benzene at a concentration of 0.187 mg/kg, tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) at 44 mg/kg, and methyl-tert <br /> butyl ether (MTBE) up to 5.16 mg/kg (IT, 2000).
