Box 30038 <br /> Stockton, CA 95213 <br /> Re: Authorization to install monitoring wells at 1538 East Market Street, Stockton, California <br /> (Third Notice) <br /> On behalf of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), a subsidiary of British Petroleum Oil <br /> Company (BP), Stratus Environmental, Inc. (Stratus) is conducting an environmental <br /> investigation at the ARCO facility located at 130 South Wilson Way, Stockton, California. As <br /> part of the onsite investigation, representatives of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Department (SJCEHD) have requested that the limits of the environmental investigation be <br /> extended to nearby properties. <br /> This letter is to request authorization for Stratus and our subcontractors to drill three soil borings <br /> and install three 2-inch diameter groundwater monitoring wells on your property, San Joaquin <br /> County Assessor parcel number 155-020-47. The parcel is located at 1538 East Market Street, <br /> Stockton, California. The environmental investigation we propose to conduct on your property <br /> will provide data on the condition of soil and groundwater east of the Arco facility and will <br /> comply with SJCEHD requirements that potentially impacted soil and groundwater be <br /> delineated. <br /> Stratus has enclosed two copies of the License Agreement form and a figure. Shown on the <br /> figure are the approximate locations of the soil borings we propose to drill on your property. The <br /> actual locations of the soil borings will be based on accessibility of a drill rig and the location of <br /> a underground utilities. Stratus will contact you prior to beginning the work to obtain approval of <br /> the drilling locations. <br /> If you agree to let BP and its contractor install the proposed monitoring wells on your property, <br /> BP will do the following: <br /> o BP will do this work at no cost to you. <br /> b BP will obtain your approval of the monitoring well locations prior to the installation <br /> of the wells. The proposed location of the monitoring wells are shown on the <br /> enclosed site plan. <br /> o BP will provide you with the results of the work and information about BP's <br /> environmental investigation. <br />
