(Delta) was contracted by Atlantic Richfield Company
(ARCO) to install four groundwater monitoring wells at ARCO Facility No. 5469 (the site),
located at 130 South Wilson Way in Stockton, California (Figure 1). The objectives of the
assessment activities were to assess the vertical and lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon
impact to soil and groundwater.
In a letter dated January 24, 2001, San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental
Health Division (PHS/EHD) requested further characterization of soil and groundwater at the
site. On March 19,. 2001, Delta submitted a Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment,
proposing the installation of two additional onsite groundwater monitoring wells in the northeast
portion of the Site to evaluate the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impact to groundwater.
In a letter dated April 4, 2001, San Joaquin County PHS/EHD requested a Work Plan Addendum
to evaluate the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon impact to groundwater in this area.
Therefore on May 14, 2001, Delta submitted the Work Plan Addendum, proposing the
installation of two additional monitoring wells screened to a depth of approximately 70 feet
below ground surface (bgs). San Joaquin County PHS/EHD subsequently approved the Work
Plan Addendum on May 21, 2001. This report presents the data collected during the installation
and sampling of the groundwater monitoring wells. Also included in this report are the results of
a search for water production wells within a 2,000-foot radius of the site.
Providing a Competitive Edge
