Weber Street, 3ra Floor
Stockton. CA 95202
Subject: Field verification of municipal water supply wells in the vicinity of
ARCO Station No. 5469, 130 Wilson Way, Stockton, California
Ms. Lagorio:
At the request of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO), Delta Environmental
Consultants, Inc. (Delta) has verified the locations of municipal water supply wells
previously identified in the vicinity of ARCO Station No. 5469, located at 130 Wilson
• Way, Stockton, California. As reported in Delta's Well Installation Report dated
August 17, 2001, a search of Department of Water Resources' (DWR) confidential well
files identified a total of twenty-one water supply wells at fifteen sites in the area. Only
five of these well sites appeared to be within a 2,000-foot radius of the site. Delta field-
verified the locations and operational status of these five well sites on October 4, 2001.
Verified locations of these well sites and the subject site are shown on the attached Site
Location Map (Figure 1) and Water Well Location Map (Figure 2). Well locations and
construction details are summarized in Table 1. The attached table and figure include
data originally presented in the Well Installation Report for the other ten well sites
identified in the area, but locations and operational status of these ten well sites were not
verified.
The five sites identified as being within 2,000 feet of the ARCO station are listed on the
attached table and figure as Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5, and 15. California Water Service (CWS), the
local water purveyor, owns the wells at 2, 3, 4, and 15. The well at No. 2 is the only
operating municipal supply well. Mr. Eric Mar of CWS indicates this well is sealed to 80
feet bgs, and is pumped frequently at a rate of 900 gallons per minute. The well is
screened from 200 to 510 feet bgs.
Regarding the status of the remaining wells, Mr. Eric Mar of CWS indicates, "The
wells—have not pumped water into the system for approximately 8 years and it is
anticipated that they will not do so in the foreseeable future."
PAARC0\54691REP0RTSIARC0 5469,well search letter.doc
Providing a Competitive Edge
