INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr. Robert Reeder,Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc. (AGE) has
prepared this Preliminary Investigation and Evaluation Report for the property located at 2461 North
Wilson Way, Stockton, California. The former street address was 2421 North Wilson Way. The
scope of work included the advancement of four soil probe borings and the collection and analysis
of soil samples. The location of the site and the immediately surrounding area are illustrated on
Figure 1. The structures and soil probe boring locations are depicted on Figure 2.
2.0. BACKGROUND
The site is located on the west side of North Wilson Way, south of Sanguinetti Lane. One building
is currently located on the site. The remainder of the site is a gravel parking area. The site is currently
occupied by Pacific Towing.
It is our understanding that one 1,000-gallon regular gasoline UST was removed from the north side
of the building in August 1991. Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) were
detected in a sample collected beneath the dispenser at a concentration of 280 parts per million
(ppm).
In September 1997, approximately 20 cubic yards of soil were excavated at the former dispenser
location to a depth of 7 feet below surface grade (bsg). TPH-g was detected at a concentration of
8,100 ppm in a soil sample collected from the bottom of the excavation. The PHS-EHD subsequently
required additional investigation to define the vertical and lateral extent of impact.
Based on the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District map titled Lines
of Equal Depth to Groundwater - Fall 1998, ground water at the site is estimated to be
approximately 50 feet bsg. The site appears to be located near a local ground water depression, with
historically variable flow directions.
3.0. PROCEDURES
Field work was performed as proposed in the approved work plan Site Assessment Work Plan dated
30 September 1999 and prepared by AGE in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health
Services-Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality
Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST)
sites.
Advanced GeoEnvi ron mental,Inc.
..r
