PUBLIC Hi�-,ALTH SERVICSU I <br /> SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY 2 z <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DIVISION <br /> Karen Furst, M.D., M.P.H., Health Officer <br /> 4�ij:pR�\ <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor • Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> 209/468-3420 <br /> JOHN & MAXINE FERRAIOLO AUG <br /> PO BOX 757 <br /> LODI CA 95241 <br /> RE: HARRY'S AUTO MART SITE CODE. 1306 <br /> 2662 N WILSON WY <br /> STOCKTON CA 95205 <br /> Two 550 gallon underground storage tanks(UST)#3 and#1,one 300 gallon UST#4,and one 2,000 <br /> gallon UST#2 were removed at the above-referenced site on April 12; 1989.Analytical results of soil <br /> sample#1 taken at 11 feet 6 inches below surface grade(bsg) east end of the 2,000 gallon UST#2 were <br /> 4,300 parts per million(ppm) of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH), 1.20 ppm of Benzene,33.0 ppm <br /> of Toluene,46.0 ppm of Ethylbenzene,and 250.0 ppm of Total Xylenes(collectively BTEX,and soil <br /> sample#2 taken at 11 feet 6 inches bsg west end of UST#2 were 11,000 ppm of TPH,and 1.0 ppm, 59.0 <br /> ppm, 61.0 ppm,and 330.0 ppm of BTEX,respectively. Analytical results of soil sample#3 taken at 9 <br /> feet bsg of the 550 gallon UST#1 located at southwest of the building were 4,000 ppm TPH,and 0.210 <br /> ppm, 2.70 ppm,7.80 ppm and 17.0 ppm of BTEX,respectively. Analytical results of soil sample#4 <br /> taken at the product line between the above-mentioned 2,000 gallon UST#2 and 550 gallon UST#1 <br /> were 0.150 ppm,0.60 ppm,0.370 ppm,and 1.60 ppm of BTEX,respectively. Oxygenates including <br /> Methyl tert Butyl Ether(MTBE) were not analyzed for. You were notified in a PHS/EHD letter dated <br /> March 25, 1997 that this site has been assigned to San Joaquin County Public Health Services, <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) Local Oversight Program (LOP). You were directed to <br /> submit a work plan that would define the vertical and lateral extent of the contamination by May 1, <br /> 1997. This work plan has not been received. <br /> Submit a work plan that will define the vertical and lateral extent of the contamination to PHS/EHD <br /> by October 15, 1999. You may wish to contact an environmental consultant. Enclosed is a list of <br /> environmental companies that are currently active in this county. <br /> PHS/EHD recommends you file an application with the California Petroleum Underground Storage <br /> Tank Cleanup Fund(Fund) for reimbursement of corrective action costs. PHS/EHD recommends <br /> applying to the Fund as soon as possible to establish eligibility. <br /> Please note that your new point of contact at PHS/EHD for this site is Jeffrey Wong.
