All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #4 Safety Equipment MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The rope used with the safety rings is currently deteriorating and is ripping due to expose to the <br /> elements. Provide a new rope that is a minimum of the width of the pool, pool closure until a safety rope can be provided. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Safety equipment shall be provided, maintained, readily visible, and available for use.Pools shall have at <br /> minimum one 12 foot fixed-length rescue pole with a permanently attached body hook and one 17-inch life ring with an attached throw <br /> rope. Throw rope shall be of sufficient length to span the maximum width of the pool and shall be stored to prevent kinking or fouling. <br /> (CCR 65540) <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The chlorine in the pool is currently measured at 0 PPM.Adjust and maintain the chlorine level to be <br /> within the range of 2- 10 PPM. Pool closure until a correction can be made. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The pH is currently measured at 8.0 or above.Adjust and maintain pH to be within the range of 7.2-7.8 <br /> at all times. Pool closure until a correction can be made. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #28 Safety Vacuum Release System MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The SVRS has been activated and it was unclear why. The system was restarted and the SVRS was <br /> triggered once again. Observe the situation and correct,the pumps are currently shut off at this time. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public Pools with single suction outlets that are not unblockable shall be equipped with a safety vacuum <br /> release system that conforms to applicable ASME/ANSI performance standards.
