All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #10 Disinfectant Residual MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The chlorine level in the body of water is currently being measured above 10 PPM. Sanitizer strips were <br /> used to measure and the concentration was measuring 50 PPM or more.Advised to neutralize the chlorine or remove a <br /> portion of the water and dispose of properly before adding fresh water into the pool. Pool closure until a correction has been <br /> made. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Public pools, when open or in use,shall be disinfected continuously by approved chemicals and shall maintain <br /> the following concentrations: 1.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine without cyanuric acid, 2.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free chlorine with cyanuric acid <br /> or 2.0 ppm bromine. Spas, wading pools,and spray grounds shall maintain the following concentrations:3.0 ppm to 10.0 ppm free <br /> chlorine or 4.0 ppm bromine. (CCR 65529) <br /> #12 pH Level MAJOR <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The pH for the pool is currently measured at 8.0 or above.Adjust and maintain the pH within the range of <br /> 7.2-7.8 at all times. Cool closure until a correction can be made. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall maintain pH between 7.2 and 7.8. (CCR 65530) <br /> #3 Safety Signs <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The safety sign containing the information for the facility is currently missing and the"Keep closed"sign <br /> for the door used to enter the pool facility is missing. Provide signs with the facility information such as address and provide <br /> a sign stating the keep the door closed for the entrance to the pool. Correct before operation. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pool operator shall keep safety signs well maintained. (CCR 65535)Safety signs shall have clearly legible <br /> letters or numbers not less than 4 inches high, unless otherwise specified. Safety signs shall be affixed to a wall,pole,gate, or similar <br /> permanent structure in a location visible to all pool users, unless otherwise specified. (CBC 3120B) <br /> #9 Ladders and Handrails <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The railing to enter the pool from the shallow side is loose and needs to be tightened. Tighten to ensure <br /> railing is secured before operation. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:A means of entry and exit shall be provided at both the shallow and deep end of the pool.Ladders and <br /> handrails shall be corrosion resistant and shall be rigidly installed.At least one handrail shall extend from the deck to not less than a point <br /> above the top of the lowest step.Handrails shall be installed between 28 to 36 inches above the steps and deck. (CBC 3111B)Pool <br /> operator shall keep ladders and handrails well maintained.
