`r
SITE CLOSURE REPORT
Don's Buggie Shop
3245 Wilson Way
Stockton, California
March 1994
1.0 INTRODUCTION
~ In accordance with a request from Mr. Don Morris of Don's Buggie Shop (Don's),
Geological Audit Services, Inc. (GeoAudit) has prepared this site closure report of activities
at 3245 Wilson Way, Stockton, California (the site). The project background, procedures,
findings, and conclusions are presented in the following sections.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 Land Use
The site is located in a flat commercial/residential area of eastern Stockton (Figure 1). The
site is currently occupied by Don's Buggie Shop, an automotive service facility specializing
in Volkswagon repair.
2.2 Tank Removal
It is our understanding that a 1,000-gallon underground storage tank (UST) containing
regular gasoline was removed from the site by AAA Tank Removal in February 1991. Two
soil samples were collected from beneath the tank, and two soil samples were collected from
the product line trench. Total petroleum hydrocarbons in the gasoline range (TPH-g)were
reported at concentrations of 2,200 and 6,600 mg/kg (ppm) in the tank samples, and
ethylene dibromide (EDB) was also detected at elevated levels. Volatile aromatic
hydrocarbons (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene) were present in both tank
samples and in one of the product line samples.
2.3 Regional Geological Setting and Hydrogeology
The site is located in the northeastern portion of San Joaquin Valley approximately 25 miles
west of the Sierra Nevada foothills and east of the Coast Ranges. The topography in the
vicinity of the site is relatively flat. Site elevation is approximately 15 feet (mean sea level
datum).
The property is underlain by Late Pliocene and Quaternary deposits of mostly arkosic sand,
silt, and clay mapped as non-marine deposits on the Geologic Map of California. These
most recent deposits probably represent run-off from the surrounding highlands and local
fluvial deposits. The Turlock Lake, the Riverbank and the Modesto Formations belong to
Gwlogial Audit Services,Inc. 1
•'J 902-S,K.losum RpVDon's Bnggie
