This report summarizes the results of
groundwater monitoring and domestic well sampling activities conducted at Frank's One Stop(site),
' located at 2072 West Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, California(Figure 1), during March 2010.
During the fourth quarter 2009, MTBE was detected in 17821-GAC2 and 17926-GAC1.A carbon
' change out was performed at these two locations prior to the first quarter 2010 sampling event.
The following paragraphs present a summary of activities including background, sampling activities, and
' analytical results. This report relies on background information, including analytical data, which has
been furnished to URS by RESD and/or other third parties.URS has relied on this information as
furnished, and is neither responsible for nor has confirmed the accuracy of this information.
BACKGROUND
The site is a retail gasoline and diesel service station with additional on-site businesses, such as
' automotive repair, bait shop, mini market,U-Haul truck rental, and propane sales. A site map is provided
as Figure 1. The following description of previous activities has been compiled from reports prepared by
Aqua Science Engineers, Inc. (ASE).
tIn response to a release identified from the dispensers, as well as inconsistencies in the fuel
reconciliation logs, in February 1995, Geological Audit Services of Stockton, California, drilled 13 soil
' borings (GB-1 through GB-10, ISLAND 1, IS, and IW) at the site. During this investigation, significant
concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons(TPH) as gasoline (TPH-G); TPH as diesel (TPH-D);
and benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes(BTEX)were discovered in the subsurface soils
and groundwater. The highest concentrations were detected in samples collected northwest or adjacent to
' the underground storage tanks (USTs), and in samples collected adjacent to the diesel fuel dispenser.
In April 1997,Remedy, Inc. of Fremont, California, drilled 10 soil borings (B-1 through B-10)to further
define impacted soil and groundwater at the site.
