1 � <br /> REMEDIATION SYSTEMS OPERATION OVERVIEW <br /> Pump— and -Treat Syste <br />' The P&T system was turned off by ASE personnel on February 28, 2002 That <br /> system no longer operates <br /> Air-SparginglVa or-Extraction System <br />' The AS/VE System operated 16 days of the month The system was shut-off by <br /> ASE personnel on October 31, 2002 for a two week period to determine if the <br /> free-floating product identified in two on-site wells would re-appear There <br /> was no product on October 31, 2002, and when ASE returned on November 15 <br /> to turn the system on, there still was no free-floating product identified on the <br /> two wells <br />' On June 10, 2002, ASE closed VE-1 and AS-1 to increase the vacuum a n d <br />' infection rate to the remaining wells VE-1 and AS-1 are positioned in an area <br /> of low hydrocarbon concentrations <br />' On October 3, 2002, ASE also closed VE-7 and AS-7 to increase the vacuum a n d <br /> infection rate to the remaining wells VE-7 and AS-7 are positioned in an area <br /> of low hydrocarbon concentrations <br /> Flow Rate <br />' While operating, the system infected an average of 45 cubic feet per minute <br /> (cfm) of air into the 5 AS well manifold, and extracted an average of 60 cfm o f <br /> I petroleum-hydrocarbon laden air from the 5 VE well manifold The IC engine <br /> operated typically at 1800 RPM The reduced flow rate of the vacuum side of <br /> the IC engine was found to be the result of malfunctioning belts that drive the <br /> blower Those belts have recently been changed <br /> Maintenance <br /> The IC engine was turned off each 220 to 250 hours of operation g p to perform <br /> routine maintenance activities Scheduled maintenance included lube, oil a n d <br /> filter for the engine and blowers, and draining of the moisture knock-out <br /> drum <br /> I <br /> Frank's One Stop Remediation System Monthly Report -- November 2002 <br /> - 2- <br />
