Based on analytical results of the water sample collected from GAC #1 on
November 2, 2001, ASE became aware that hydrocarbons had broken
through the first carbon vessel The GAC #2 sample collected on that day
and the remainder of the month showed no breakthrough At no time
during the month of November 2001 were any petroleum hydrocarbons
discharged to the Manteca Sanitary Sewer Line See the analytical report
attached in Appendix B
Flow Rate
During the month of November 2001, the system treated 169,020 gallons
of groundwater While operating, the system extracted, on average,
approximately 4 gallons of contaminated groundwater per minute
gFFjjjyNT ANp INFIXENT SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSES
Eff-Luent Water Sammi
Water samples were collected and analyzed on a weekly basis by ASE to
determine the performance of the GAC vessels, per the City of Manteca
Sewer Discharge Permit The samples were collected from the effluent
side of the various GAC vessels When GAC #1 and GAC #2 were sampled,
• ASE also collected a sample from the next vessel in series and placed it on
HOLD at the laboratory, as a back-up in case the sample being analyzed
showed breakthrough All of these samples were analyzed by Kiff
Analytical of Davis, California (ELAP #2236) for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and
xylenes (collectively known as BTEX), and the five fuel oxygenates by EPA
Method 8260B At no time during this month's operation, did the effluent
entering the sewer line contain any detectable concentrations of any o f
the compounds tested The effluent water sample analytical reports a n d
chain of custody records are attached in Appendix B
Influent W ter Sam.
On November 30, 2001, ASE collected an influent water sample (INF 11 -
30-01) This sample was analyzed by Kiff Analytical of Davis, California
(ELAP #2236) for TPH-G, BTEX, and the five fuel oxygenates by EPA Method
8260B The analytical results for this sample are tabulated in the Tables
Section of this report as Table One The influent water sample analytical
report and chain of custody record is attached in Appendix B A graph
showing the historical TPH-G concentrations in the influent water samples
is attached in the Graph Section of this report
Frank's One Stop Remediation System Monthly Report — November 2041
-2-
