MET - . engineers inc. <br /> May 29, 2001 <br />' Ms Dot Lofstrom <br /> San Joaquin Public Health Services <br /> Environmental Health Division <br />' 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br />' SUBJECT APRIL 2001 REMEDIATION SYSTEM EFFECTIVENESS <br /> REPORT <br />' Frank's One Stop Service Station <br /> 2072 West Yosemite Avenue <br /> Manteca, California <br />' Dear Ms Lofstrom <br />' On September 29, 2000, Aqua Science Engineers, Inc (ASE) started an <br /> interim groundwater remediation system at the subject site to control the <br /> off-site migration of petroleum hydrocarbons identified in the on-site <br /> groundwater See the ASE "System Installation Report," dated October 2, <br /> 2000 for complete details regarding the system's installation and start-up <br />' SITE VISITS <br />' During the month of April 2001, ASE generally visited the site f o r <br /> operation and maintenance activities on Mondays, Wednesdays, a n d <br /> Fridays As detailed on the Groundwater Extraction System Daily Field <br />' Data Log, attached in Appendix A, ASE noted the date, time, total gallons <br /> treated, the vacuum influence on each recovery well, and commented on <br />' any issues such as system alarms or shut-offs ASE also performed <br /> maintenance procedures as necessary on all equipment <br />' SYSTEM OPERATION OVER-VIE <br /> The system was found to be off in the first week of the month due to a <br />' high level switch alarm ASE backflushed granulated activated carbon <br /> (GAC) vessel #1 and this cured the problem The system was found to b e <br />' off during the last week of the month due to a power failure The system <br /> was also off for 4 days in the middle of the month due to a broken valve <br /> which occurred during carbon replacement The valve had to be ordered <br /> and was installed by ASE personnel upon its arrival <br /> Frank's One Stop Remediation System Monthly Report — April 2001 <br /> 208 W El Pintado, Danville, Calrfom,a 94526 925-820-9391 Fax 925-837-4853 <br />
